STORY
The world’s first automatic bill counting machines (or banknote counting machines) were introduced in 1920s in United States and were produced by the Federal Bill Counter Company of Washington, D.C. These machines were designed to increase efficiency in tellers in the Federal Reserve Bank and reduce human error. Before the 1st banknote counter invented, bank tellers counted money the same way you do when you look in your wallet -- one bill at a time. Tellers made sure that packages held exactly 100 notes of the same denomination, judged authenticity by sight and feel.

Currency counting changed little during the '30s. Federal Bill Counters were still used. Sorting was done manually and by District, so that unfit currency was returned to the Federal Reserve District in which it had been issued. Counterfeit bills were sent directly to the Secret Service for investigation. In 1960s and 1970s the volume of currency continued to grow. While bill counting technology evolved in terms of the size and efficiency of the counters, the “friction counter” of today was not introduced until 1962 by Tokyo Calculating Machine Works of Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. This technology quickly dominated the market thanks to increased speed and accuracy.

Today, many of these features are present in today’s note counting machines, some of which can detect a note's security features (e.g. magnetic ink, ultraviolet ink, magnetic strip, note density etc.) to identify counterfeit and damaged notes. Furthermore, it equipped with many features like additions functions, batch functions, format recognition, etc. Such functions facilitate the everyday contact with cash in working with the machines.

TC-8000 is state-of-the-art value counting machine can count and detect mixed denominations. The hi-tech counting machine has counterfeit detection installed. This handy value counting machine displays total value, as well as separate value of denominations. The external display of the counting machine is optional. A combination of rugged construction and latest technology in counterfeit detection make the TC-8000 the ideal cash processing tool.
